Skiathos is without doubt the beach capital of the Sporades Islands, and you might need more than a week or two to visit all sixty-eight of them. Exploration on (and under) the water is easily accomplished. Regular ferries connect Skiathos with the other main islands of the Sporades – Skopelos and Alonissos – both different in character. Boat hire, snorkelling, and for those with more energy, waterskiing and windsurfing are also readily available.
